Our Story

In 1981 Gary Barrs founded the company now known as B.E.C Perimeter Security. The first locksmith shop was opened in Shepherds Bush, London, shortly followed by another in Fulham. A sister company was established installing electronic alarms and access control systems. In 1990 the locksmith company was sold and the first factory was opened manufacturing grilles, gates, railings and full height turnstiles. A service for the installation of these products was then introduced, as well as automatic gate operators and access control equipment to compliment the companies manufactured goods. This marriage of electronics, steel and B.E.C’s capabilities, has created a cutting edge company unique in the market place.

Our Mission

B.E.C carries out the whole installation without the need to subcontract any of the works, including all ground works and electricity suppliers by B.E.C's own Nappit qualified engineers.
Having worked for the company since they were very young, Nick Barrs (director) and Mark Barrs (site supervisor), the second generation of this family run business, have been brought up with the view that service is paramount to the growth of the company. B.E.C Perimeters Security Ltd customers can be assured of many years of the best service available. We now export our manufactured goods as well as our expertise to Africa, Asia, and the United Emirates. We have also just been given a grant by the EU for developing a unique range of turnstiles that have been sold all over the world.

Gary Barrs -

Managing Director

B.E.C is now a well established family run business that offers it’s expertise and products around the world.

Nick has been working with B.E.C like his brother Mark for almost 15 years since he left school at the age of 17. Having worked with his dad during the school holidays it was clear from a young age that business was in his blood. Passionate, precise and with a big commitment to service and quality B.E.C should be in good hands for many many more years to come. Nick heads our sales and operations divisions.

Lee has been working with B.E.C for over 25 years. He has been working with Gary since it all began many years ago. Lee is a great asset to our company and we are lucky to have him, he has a great repour with our customers and staff alike. Lee has been our service manager since 2013.

Farwad has been working with B.E.C for over 5 years now, Farwad is a hard working, trustworthy and very punctual man who heads up our accounts department, having received all of his accountancy qualifications at a young age Farwad is very experienced in his field.

Having been good friends with Nick since the age of 13 Simeon was offered a job by Gary at the age of 17. Gary immediately saw the potential in him after offering him a trial, Sim has all the attributes to be at the top for many years to come. He has over 15 years experience in both manufacturing and installations and has been our site supervisor for over 8 years.

Mark is one of Gary’s four sons, two of which work within the company. Mark has been working with B.E.C since he left school at the age of 17. He has a huge amount of experience in the manufacturing and installation sides of the business, along with the passion and a great eye for detail. Mark’s current role is site supervisor.

Barry has been working with B.E.C for over 25 years having left school and joining Gary from the start. He has vast experience in manufacturing and put simply the factory just wouldn’t be the same without him. Barry has held the role of factory foreman for over 10 years.

Barry has been with B.E.C since 2014, recruited due to his vast experience in the electric gate and access control industry. He has quickly settled into the B.E.C way of life and has cemented himself into the role of our senior electronics engineer.

Chris Page -

Head Installation Engineer

Chris has been working with B.E.C since 2003 he has vast experience in the electric gate industry. Chris is our head installation engineer and is the man in charge of our sites when it comes to the electronics. Loyal, trustworthy and a popular member of the B.E.C family, Chris has always said he wants to be at B.E.C forever which of course we are more than happy to hear.

John has been with B.E.C for over 15 years now, having joined as an apprentice with the view and aim to be an electronics engineer. JJ, as he is known by all staff, is a very popular member of the B.E.C team and has vast experience in the gate automation turnstile and access control industry, JJ is a senior electronics engineer.
